ABN AMRO Open 2027: where to stay for a week of tennis at Rotterdam Ahoy

Every February, Rotterdam Ahoy turns into a tennis venue, and in 2027 the 54th ABN AMRO Open runs from Saturday 6 to Sunday 14 February 2027. Whether you are coming for one evening session, the semi-finals weekend or the whole week, here is what to know about the dates, how to get to Ahoy from different parts of the city, and why an apartment can be a comfortable base for a tournament week.

Key dates for the ABN AMRO Open 2027

According to the organisers, the tournament week looks like this:

• Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February: qualification weekend. Sunday is a "Sunday Funday" with match-court and ground-pass tickets.
• Monday 8 February: the main draw begins, with day sessions from 11:00 and evening sessions from 19:30 through Friday.
• Tuesday 9 February: Trendy Tuesday.
• Wednesday 10 February: Kids Day.
• Thursday 11 February: #NextGen Day.
• Friday 12 February: quarter-finals.
• Saturday 13 February: semi-finals, with an afternoon and an evening session.
• Sunday 14 February: finals day, with the doubles final at 13:00 and the singles final at 15:30.

A passe-partout ticket gives access to every day, including qualification. Session times and prices can change, so check the official ABN AMRO Open site before you book. Rotterdam Ahoy has hosted the tournament since 1974.

A busy first weekend

The International Film Festival Rotterdam runs until Sunday 7 February 2027 (IFFR), so the tournament's qualification weekend overlaps with the festival's final weekend. If those dates are part of your plans, it pays to book your accommodation early.

Getting to Rotterdam Ahoy

Ahoy is in the south of the city, a five-minute walk from Zuidplein bus and metro station (Ahoy). Metro lines D and E both stop at Zuidplein and run through the city centre via Rotterdam Centraal, Beurs and the Kop van Zuid (metro lines). Ahoy itself says you can reach it from Rotterdam Centraal in about 10 minutes.

Here is how that works from our Rotterdam locations. Metro times are taken from the RET line D timetable, where daytime trains run every 10 minutes; line E serves the same stops. Distances are straight-line distances to Ahoy.

Add the walk to your nearest station and the five-minute walk from Zuidplein to Ahoy. For Brede Hilledijk that comes to roughly a quarter of an hour door to door. For an exact route at your time of travel, use the RET, NS or 9292 journey planners, as Ahoy also recommends, especially for the late evening sessions.

Arriving by plane? Ahoy notes that the Intercity Direct from Schiphol Airport reaches Rotterdam Centraal in about 25 minutes. A taxi from Schiphol to Ahoy takes about 50 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Coming by car? Most of our buildings have no on-site parking, but you can ask about a parking space at Westersingel or Villapark.

Why an apartment works well for a tennis week

Tournament days are long. Day sessions start at 11:00, evening sessions at 19:30, and on finals weekend you might be at Ahoy from lunchtime until the evening. That is where your own apartment helps:

• Breakfast and dinner on your own schedule. Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, so you are not tied to restaurant times between sessions.
• Room to unwind. A living area with a sofa is welcome after a full day in the stands, and a group or family can stay together in a two- or three-bedroom apartment.
• Simple arrival. Our apartments use digital locks, so there is no key handover. Standard check-in is at 16:00, and when you book directly on our website, early check-in at 14:00 is free, subject to availability.
• A relaxed last day. Check-out is at 11:00. If you want more of the morning after the final, late check-out at 13:00 costs €25, subject to availability, and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. At Brede Hilledijk you can also leave your luggage before check-in or after check-out.
• Weekly cleaning for the full week. If you stay seven nights or longer, weekly cleaning is included.

Which location suits your tournament?

• Mainly here for the tennis: Brede Hilledijk is our closest location to Ahoy. Its three compact units (studios and a one-bedroom apartment) all have air-conditioning.
• Tennis plus city life: stay central at Westersingel, Binnenrotte or Jufferstraat, with museums, restaurants and IFFR cinemas nearby and the metro to Ahoy close at hand.
• A group or family: our larger apartments in Rotterdam Noord and at Westersingel have two or three bedrooms.
