The NN Marathon Rotterdam 2027 takes place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2027. It is the 46th edition of what the organisers call one of the fastest marathons in the world, and the marathon also serves as the Dutch national championship. Whether you are running or cheering, here is what to know before you book.
Key dates for the 2027 marathon weekend
- Pre-registration: open until 3 November 2026, 10:00 (free). Entries for the Dutch championship and Super Marathon Masters open on 4 November 2026 at 14:00.
- Friday 9 April: Marathon Sport Expo at the Postillion Convention Centre WTC Rotterdam, 10:00–20:00, for bibs and shirts.
- Saturday 10 April: walks of 5, 10 and 15 km, NN Kids Runs and the City Run, all starting and finishing on the Coolsingel. The expo is open 10:00–19:00.
- Sunday 11 April: the Kwart Marathon starts from 09:15 at the Burgemeester van Walsumweg; the NN Marathon Rotterdam starts in waves from 10:00 on the Schiedamsedijk. The finish is on the Coolsingel.

Why a marathon weekend deserves more than one night
Many runners arrive on Friday to collect their bib at the expo, keep Saturday calm and race on Sunday. Supporters often come for the whole weekend too. That easily adds up to two or three nights, and it is exactly when a kitchen and a living room make a difference:
- Your own pre-race dinner: cook the pasta you trust instead of hunting for a table on Saturday night.
- Breakfast on your schedule: no dependence on breakfast-room opening times on race morning.
- Room to recover: a sofa and space to stretch are welcome after 42.195 km.
- Space for supporters: two- and three-bedroom apartments let friends or family stay together.
Where to stay for the NN Marathon Rotterdam
The start on the Schiedamsedijk and the finish on the Coolsingel are both in the city centre.
